Chocolate & Apricot Squares
Serves 6
Ingredients :
100g/4oz butter
175g/6oz chocolate, broken
into little items
4 eggs
100g/4oz powdered sugar
200g/7oz flour, sifted
1 teaspoon leavening
pinch of salt
100g/4oz ready-to-eat dried
apricots, chopped
• heat the kitchen appliance to 180°C/350°F/Gas mark four. gently grease a
23cm/9in sq. cake tin and line very cheap with baking parchment.
• soften the butter and chocolate in an exceedingly heatproof bowl set over a pan
of stewing water. Stir oft with a picket spoon till the mixture
is sleek and shiny. Leave the mixture to chill slightly.
• Beat the eggs and powdered sugar into the butter and chocolate mixture till
well combined.
• Fold within the flour, leavening, salt and apricots, and incorporate well.
• Pour the mixture into the tin, and bake within the kitchen appliance for 25–30 minutes.
The centre of the cake might not be fully firm, however it'll set because it
cools. Leave within the tin to chill.
• once fully cold, end up and locomote squares or bars
